Beyond the faculties of the senses lies an enigmatic pool of consciousness, ever rippling. The earth—our most connective tissue—speaks to us through these ripples.
At the heart of Sensing Earth Space is Ben Khan’s Bubble Project, a lightweight, inflatable structure designed as a womb-like vessel that has been featured at the London Festival of Architecture, Goldsmiths, and the Architectural Association. Like the body itself, the Bubble
lives simply through air—a soft tension that holds the impermanent whole, inviting visitors to step inside, attune to their breath, and reflect on their relationship with others and their environment. It becomes a vessel for intentional gathering and community, where meaning is co-created.
Surrounding the Bubble are the visceral works of Arran Gregory, who sculpts with raw materials such as Bali earth soil, clay, and natural pigments. Gregory’s work transforms the gallery into an evolving open studio where visitors are invited to touch, mold, and shape the soil, forging new expressions of connection and transformation.
The exhibition also features Gregory’s Earth Body series, created across Finland, Borneo, and Bali, alongside a series of short films directed by Gregory and Alexander Ingham Brooke capturing his engagement with raw materials and the landscapes that inspired them. These films, including Blue Entity (Earth Body IV), document Gregory’s collaborations with local artists in Payangan, Bali, and his experiments with natural indigo and clay.
Following Sensing Earth Space, Titik Dua will present Andra Matin’s "Proses", opening February 7 and book launching event “Sipping Stories: Tropicality” on February 8. Andra Matin’s exploration of tropical architecture reflects a deep commitment to creating sustainable, contextually responsive spaces. Together, these exhibitions form a cohesive narrative about humanity’s evolving relationship with the natural world, architecture, and creativity. “We invite every guest to sense and connect with the earth materials surrounding us,” shares Fonny, General Manager of Titik Dua. “Through these tactile and sensory experiences, we hope to inspire deeper reflections on our bond with the natural world, fostering a collective consciousness about our place within it.” she added.
Over the course of the week, Sensing Earth Space transforms into an evolving space shaped by the contributions of visitors and local artists. Through experimental dance, sound, and spoken word performances, the installation becomes a living dialogue of creativity and community. A ripple in the distance of consciousness stirs new ways of sensing.
