The client wanted a good house that could work as tropical as it could but still in their limited budget. They dreamed a house that could accomodate a family gathering but still in good performance as a compact scale house. The site area is 8m x 18m rectangular perfectly. Because of budget, we had to use some strategies that would make this house still in budget plan. The first thing that we could do is to make the build area were not to much but still optimal. They wanted 3 single bedrooms and 1 master bedroom for this house. Complemented with open plan living and dining room, kitchen, and sevice area, the build area optimally we got from their needs is about 135 sqm. The service area was located on the front area and camouflaged it with rosters that leveled with the gate to block it visually and made it looks like desappear. So the private area could be placed optimally. To reduce the building material cost optimally, we made the building’s floor to floor level is only 3.2 meters. But with only about 135 sqm, we could have the optimal void above the open plan area to get the higher ceiling. than we put the backyard garden to make a good ventilation. We also did the design by reducing the glass to reduce exposure to excessive sunlight from the west on the facade.
