Penguin house is a residential project intended for the architect and his little family. Located in a dense and old residential complex, this house has its own challenges, namely to blend in and not stand out when compared to other existing homes but still with a modern touch. Inspired by the concept of yin & yang, this house is made with 2 different characters for the facade and interior. The first character is modest in the facade area. The black and white colors that have a monochrome feel are chosen to be the basis of the facade design. While the interior of the house is made with a combination of teak wood and white colors to give a spacious and warm impression. The interior style represent the owner's simple lifestyle and avoid hassle. Simple and clean, this house does not feature decorative elements with many colors, this house makes every architectural element as a decorative element itself. the white walls that dominate the house function like a canvas for the sun's shadow. Spatial planning is maximized with lots of open space in this house. Architects designed this house with very few walls to maximize wind circulation and sunlight.
