Seaside Collective Project epitomizes our approach to space, landscape, ways of living, and a sense of freedom. It captures the essence of creativity, freedom, community, but in the same way, inviting relaxation, retreat, and enjoyment of the spectacular beachfront location it shares. Respect towards the wisdom of local material and craftsmanship is what really being constructed. Very light, the houses, made of glugu wood, woven bamboo, and thatched roof, connect people with the site context. By dividing the building into several components, connecting them with wood open-bridges, we attempt to reduce the scale. Pivoted doors with bamboo matting allow a panoramic view, privacy, or wind screening of every room.
