RI House is located in Bandung with only 65 square meters land area and it was two-storey small building, left out by the owner for almost 5 years. . When we visited the existing building, it was completely disastrous. For instance, the ceiling almost broken down, and it did not have any natural light and minimum air ventilation. . At the first brief, the client asked us to renovate this building with minimum intervention to save money. It was quite challenging for us to maximize its potential with such a limited budget. . So, we came up with an idea to preserve the upper structure, a few walls, and the roof structure itself. Then, we were using a wide-glass-folding door to let natural light and air cross the building. To maximize and connect the indoor-outdoor area, we designed an open plan layout without any massive walls and folding-sliding doors at the front and backyard.
